Synopsis[]

Arnold Jackson accidentally comes into possession of the Cat's Eye Emerald, a gemstone that siphons coolness from others while turning them into total nerds. Can the spies stop him before he transforms everyone on the planet into nerds? In a B-story, Arnold runs for class president. He ends up losing to the school mascot.

  • Slogans appearing in this episode are:
    • Arnold's slogan is "Be bold, vote for Arnold".
    • The mascot's slogan is "Don't be a laughingstock, vote for the Peacock".
  • The Beverly Hills High mascot is the Peacock.
  • The Beverly Hills Mall has an underground parking lot.
  • Cat's Eye is a reference to the manga and anime series "Cat's Eye" which was one of the inspirations for the show.
  • It is revealed by Sam that the Cat's Eye Emerald ring is the only British crown jewel not on display at the Tower of London in England, as it was said to have supernatural powers. It was given to Elizabeth I of England in 1578.

  • This episode explains that coolness is apparently a genetic thing, which in real life, it is not.
  • When the characters are transformed into nerds by Arnold, their appearances change drastically.
    • Mandy gets a lisp, freckles, single arch braces on her upper teeth, a scrunchie, messy hair, and nerdy clothes.
    • Clover gets a voice crack with a snorty laugh, and her hair becomes a large Afro with a side ponytail and a green bow.
    • Sam gets a nasal voice, messy hair, and a short, low ponytail with yellow, red, and blue hair clips.
    • Alex gets a lisp with an obnoxious high-pitched voice, orthodontic headgear, dental braces, messy hair, and a small ponytail tied on the top of her head using a yellow elastic hair band.
    • Dash Dawson gets a higher-pitched voice, visible freckles, buck teeth, and some hair on his chin. His hair also became shorter and his eyes became smaller. His clothes became large and baggy, including a larger bow tie.
    • Arnold's freckles disappear and his voice becomes lower after he absorbs some cool DNA.
  • The catsuits were nerdified: untucked from the belt, the epaulets become 3 times larger, the zipper slider becomes large and visible, the collar becomes larger, the pads on the arms and legs disappeared, the arm sleeves becoming large and baggy, the gloves and boots becoming separate pieces, larger and looser, and the bottom part becoming puffy, making them look like they are wearing underwear on the outside.
  • Goof: The size of Clover's Afro varies in each scene.
  • Goof: When Arnold uses his car to cut down the palm trees he only cuts down 2 of them but the next scene shows 3 fallen palm trees.
  • Goof: When Sam is analyzing Clover's hair strand, her hand holding the Compowder is shown wearing her green catsuit, despite Sam wearing civilian clothes.
  • Goof: The size of the girls' nerdified epaulets varies in each scene.
